@mjserres those principles apply to so much - thinking it equally applies to my sw engineering work at the mo as it relates to people
RT @iMismii: . @ThreeUK are now on Facebook too - facebook.com/ThreeUK
@etherealtype I was somewhere last week (forget) and they got out an old mechanical card printing thing (tho only for deposit/security!)
RT @RachEdwardsF1: Watching Sky's Meet the F1 Rookies on Anytime! Finally I've found a use for Anytime, whoop!
@RachEdwardsF1 oh err. any good? Will have to watch that!
Will have to research more ;-) RT @papadimitriou Why Angry Birds is so successful and popular: the user experience http://bit.ly/ez8r9d #fb
Fast broadband is good - itunes new version notification popped up. Accepted. Took about 15s to download the itunes update
@Ew4n completely with you. COmmented on blog. a good step tho. first time ever used data abroad
@littlecough Ohh errr. like the sound of that!
Nice neighbour has brought round some unfinished bubbly, opened today which will otherwise go to waste. Yummy for later after playing taxi
#libya is going to get messy(-er) :-(
Must do some #f1 catchup. Prog to watch. News from today. Fantasy submissions #fanfail
@MichaelxHell had meant to see in cinema. Looked quite decent. So bit ordinary? Down from salt? #thetourist
um. film "source code" - will it be any good http://bit.ly/hCPZSA sceptical - but from director of "moon" (duncan jones) .. #fb
@sxa555 am waiting for my delayed xmas present (SSD). as if. maybe? but not definately...
@Queen_of_Snarks families....
@hunni_h far better than ready meal. Found a piece of lamb (steak), veg/pots. perfect. no need to b fancy.
@Chl0w :-( cant agree more
Hoping to finlly get around to watching #wonders tonight
@vixisabel TBH I'd oft rather do a basic meal than ready. tho the more premium ones can be good. Very rare.
@vixisabel ah! let you off then. tho in a crash handful of salad+piece of ham/salmon etc is more my kind of thing.
as sweet chilli sauces go this "lingham's" is rather good ". has a little spice to it. Must get some http://bit.ly/g5m0S7 though
@ananyah nothing better than a meaty problem to solve that has passed others by and then cracking it!
summer is getting closer. really should think about nikon 70-300/tamron 18-270/nikon 18-200 for holiday. need walkabout
and budget restricted. prob means tamrom, but f6.3. Quality I'd go 70-300 but travelling around coaches/trips -- too awkward?
@tomiahonen HSBC http://bit.ly/dJgGVm brings up interesting issue about how client verifies business. I've had genuine calls from CC fraud
@tomiahonen depts asking. Only way really is to call published number or to agree a secret key protocol.
@pj_kent in spain a few weeks I yearned for >105 a lot. But with family/on tour swapping would be tricky sigma have a 18-250 I think.
@BTCare thanks for reply but it would *really* be useful if you guys sorted out the "in-reply-to" references on the tweets. makes it tricky.
@BTCare Yes my tweet did relate to the 1Gbps connection. something not right. Will followup as a discussion on forum for now and retest.
@jon_read it's how much a peaceful life I want from family and not stopping to change lenses/escape from sand/water (close) is the Q
reading useful daily summary from @sarahholtf1 http://bbc.in/dM3Ny6 #f1 as was busy working today. Can dig later
@rickmans Seems to be a bad link here?
@MikeyPalmer which one, the tamron 18-270?
@MikeyPalmer I'm going to need a serious comprimise for holiday. cruise so a busy schedule, water/sand. family wide/tele hence thought
@rickmans sounded like an interesting read. Personally gets manic here (UK) for #f1 and #xfactor + other "live" competitions/sports
@rickmans driving more live TV watching (possibly good for advertizers) - def changing my behaviour
Grr thunderbird (regular or alpha) is leaking cpu - no extensions, index disabled. works but it's constant 10-15%. Time for a change?
use news (nntp) lots on intranet. Any good webapps for nntp browsing that can be deployed locally and provide google reader type UX ?
@MikeyPalmer thx
@MikeyPalmer Am not that smart. just a simple hobby photo guy. But I do love my 50mm 1.8 (cheapskate):-)
@Helen_b how old? If >18 : I should think so too. 14-18 great stuff <14 brilliant. cool. well done ... !
@MikeyPalmer will be on a cruise, so things like water/distance can make things tricky. tho in truth priority is to enjoy holiday anyway
@MikeyPalmer my most favourite gadget (beside cocktail glass) will prob be kindle....
@WebBasedWorking def my favourite pizza takeaway "brand" :-)
Grr. I created a filter today to vapourize paper.li posts. And then "Daily is Out". OH GO AWAY!
Don't! you! think! that! the! paper.li! wording! could! have! come! from! Yahoo! ??!
@epredator What does the wholesale checker say. Does it mention fttc? Is your cab live? Is it > 15 Mbps?
@epredator If it says <15 Mbps BT won't sell infinity. They're *trialling" a new offering "BT Total Broadband with Fibre". Basically SAME
@epredator think it's to avoid contaminating the "infinity" brand with slower speed ratings
@WebBasedWorking oh that is so dangerous
@sxa555 well some of our corporate ids use it :-(
@sxa555 am especially annoyed as I politely emailed them a question twice and they never even bothered to reply #paper.li #fail
@unkn0wnvariable only exception would be "the free tickets to #f1 monaco 2011 daily is out" ... :-)
@rickmans Brill! worked. 50% superbowl. Wow. But look at sites. Mostly ad-hoc browsing, thought more realtime (tho fb could be). no twitter?
@rickmans so interesting Q is whether web use augmented the live experience (discussion or research) or was distraction (farmville etc)
Oh brill - didn't know that quote RT @middleda: "Technology is a word that describes something that doesn't work yet." Douglas Adams #fb
@Queen_of_Snarks Have you seen any of human planet http://bbc.in/fncFXb - reminds me of behind/scenes piece where team were isolated
@Queen_of_Snarks on a broken ice sheet for a while.. floating away from land...
@Queen_of_Snarks that's not long for a trip (can't see you objecting..)
@sxa555 wonder if I should replace my work email sig (einstein) with that quote. Wonder if customers will appreciate it. perhaps not ;-)
@sxa555 So "Information Technology" basically means we haven't got a clue what this is/means ...
@Kisa who watches live tv anyway (except sport/competitions/news) ?
Interest program on bbc radio 4 about devolution and the lco process (competency). Woah. Tedious. Also the fact the ts a single lady
In cardif uni that runs the only consolidated catalogue of welsh law... As otherwise spread across many docs/conditional sections in bills
@Queen_of_Snarks a flight north might be a start.
@Queen_of_Snarks enjoy the break. Cue more ranting later....
Article on world expert on welsh legislation http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12674539
Theres me getting distracted again. Must understand devolution powers now... Ok not really. I so want to know everything!
This was the 1/4 drunk bottle of wine neighbour brought over http://bit.ly/fSW1lJ - surprisingly good. Yum Scrum. would be rude not to
@epredator wow that's quick. Guess too late but hopefully you checked quidco... order was fine for me but took 3-4 weeks
@epredator bt contacted me quite a while after it went live. think there was heavy demand! (our area has 2.5-4 Mbps tops adsl2+)
@epredator nice. My prediction was around 30. I get 34. Tried resync/disconnected extensions -- still settles on 34. 500m+ to box
@epredator seems silly to "complain" I'm only getting 34 instead of 35, 40 ... or of course the 70 Mbps some lines 500m could manage
@epredator You saw BT removed the 300Gb fup limitation :-)
Grr. 2 apps (both work related) are spinning CPU after suspend/resume cycle. Sigh. everything else working fine ....
Wonder if cpu issue prompted by SP1 ... (Win 7 x64) ...?
@epredator it's quite liberating getting faster speed. work of pleasure. HD streaming esp, also multiple users in use. downloads zip by ...
@epredator when our engineer came he'd been involved in some early studies? Reckoned 500m was s/times good for 70 Mbps. Hence34 frustration!
@honeybee85 http://slate.me/eB3ygh (safe, honest)
@epredator This is my first experience with BT BTW- first ISP was world online->Tiscali then Bulldog->C&W->O2->BT., generally all v.good
@racheeroo01 intriguing.
@thecheekycritic just pretend it's a firewall challenge, certificate error or free ipad - ppl will click anything. conditioned too
@thecheekycritic or it's "DO NOT CLICK THE RED BUTTON" ;-) alice?
@icicle_halo_ cigs where @_pocketdynamo was sitting, empty drinks probably were @ozonevibe. coke was yours?
@racheeroo01 hopefully not a maths text book. might give that a miss ;-)
@thecheekycritic is it worth spending the time reading the daily #fail website?
@EmpireSteve royal wedding sale, day before rw sale, day after the rw sale, mega wednesday sale, fooky friday sale....
@EmpireSteve we ordered special offer bed from dreams, then found it on amazon just a little over half price. fortunately we could cancel..
@OzoneVibe ah! @icicle_halo_ was in basingstoke of course... @_pocketdynamo still it would have made sense.
RT @neilfairbrother: We don't need a new rail line to Birmingham. We need fibre optic broadband to every house in the UK.
@OzoneVibe bread may not be better in a machine, but is something to be said about the 5 mins effort it takes to prepare....
RT @stuartbaggs: I'm climbing outside the 170 meter Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth tomorrow at 11 AM for Comic Relief. If you can, come d ...
@DaveMyers1 Am up to the top 13 discussion. Pia def extremely good but open minded. have a few favs #Idol
issue telegraph saying this? RT @Peston:Here is a link. http://bit.ly/flHFmS A BBC lawyer says I cannot tell you what the link is about #fb
