Mmm. think I may already be suffering from dodgy wireless on the @btcare homehub - otherwise infinity is spot on. some devs loosing conn
HH 2b, sure wifi problems can connect but no data throughput - s60 phone, ipod, N900 (maemo linux) tho Win7 laptop ok? @BTCare
all devices that work fine with a) ddwrt b) dg834gt c) Thomson 585v7 (O2 router)
@NeilBaileyF1 I can take a little practice, and you do need a decent pumped machine. Had old cheap machine - dubious. proper gaggia=easy
Yep looks like #infinity #HH2 is dodgy wifi side. need to research/gather info/report. so much for 802.11n
@noelrooney nope was at gym. will try one eve
@noelrooney there's no reason to suspect the tech (access part) will have an effect, but the provisioning of respective services might
@btcare new infinity install - are there 802.11n problems with HH2 type B. Have lots of devs, I know wifi and initial reaction is its flakey
@RachaelEdwards remember they may swap or reset the box & if so you'll loose recorded programs so copy off/watch any favs...
@RachaelEdwards is it under warranty?
@ljattrill I rarely remember tv adverts - or watch - except for "events" (inc. xfactor!) - record/FF ?
@RachEdwardsF1 ah.... yes I do find that aspect especially annoying. still hopefully sorted soon.
@RachEdwardsF1 if ever fails out of warranty ask to cancel. I virtually guarantee they'll offer to fix for free.. done it t least twice
@RachEdwardsF1 it's quite simple the monthly ££ they get from you is far more important than repair ££
this is going to be a novelty - I get to drive my car to work (my car's been working fine, it's OH's that's been broken....)
I do like #seesmic #sd2 though notice it's using nearly 800Mb after a day -- looks like a memory leak...
that was clever. Win laptop just rebooted spontaneously. No error in errorlog, no BSOD. Looked like a power off/on cycle !
should be a good day at work. really busy but hopefully rewarding!
@BTCare yes I have, it hasn't. Looks as if hub handing out ip addrs, and association fine, but blocking traffic. more debug tonight...
busy but productive/interesting day.. must do some #hh2 wifi analysis later
keep getting locked out of gmail - via captcha. not sure why...
the lack mostly seems to affect my IMAP access. web access is ok???
@riveerrrrssss actually my issue has been ongoing for a number of months...

@sxa555 Oops. sorry. I was just playing with kindle to see how to share a quote and before I know it, it had gone!
@racheeroo01 Hey it is rather isn't it!
Good work day today. Came home to find homehub rebooted (expected - FON was enabled) so wiif working properly. have to see when next fails
@davenice annoying, just don't know why
@sxa555 Was actually reading Alan Sugar's book (hardbook) and several quotes I'd like to post so was reflecting on how easy on kindle...
@vikwilliams Yes ok very funny. thanks for making me smile :-)
@unkn0wnvariable the BT homehub only does 130 in first place.
Oh dear, wireless has fallen over on the homehub already (no data). trying forcing 802.11g only (and b)
@BTCare experiments so far suggest the HH2 wifi is rather broken. any channel/device. works briefly after reboot
@BTcare Are there a list of known issues and workarounds for HH2(b) wifi. Are they fixed in HH3 ?
gosh. 18 mac addresses registered on our BT homehub. never said we were an easy test case
@unkn0wnvariable there's few things not turned on, its a fair few though all appear as wifi currently
@unkn0wnvariable prefer ethernet where poss, also old/slow devices relegated to 802.11b/g wap. want to save 802.11n for new laptops
@unkn0wnvariable though acadamic as seems to be the least reliable wifi I've seen in a while.
About time, looks like #ACS:Law are continuing to get come-uppance. Deserve it given scare tactics/unethical behaviour http://bit.ly/gc0ifJ
@unkn0wnvariable 5Ghz nice and uncluttered :-)
left pc on (should have suspended) whilst at work - didn't seem much running yet it had used a Gb of data. seems a tad wasteful. should find
@OzoneVibe eek. bad planning. You could have an "open house" party?
@sxa555 spotify was running, though stopped. same for lastfm. either *might* have stopped themselves after a while. and seesmic/evernote
@sxa555 and browser windows - it surely was music. (and this is internet not local subnet). Need to keep eye on it.
@sxa555 so you're getting fttc tomorrow or friday?
@sxa555 cool. Noticed my latency jumped 24->38 today, expect it's DLM having it's 10 day experimentation session.
@sxa555 first hop has jumped 9->24ms (+15ms) sounds like interleaving turned up to 11 ...
@sxa555 amazing how much data *could* leak when you have so many pcs & other devices in house - I've left my phone streaming lastfm before..
@sxa555 I probably should have some intelligent network management of some kind to do traffic pattern identification...
@sxa555 I am pretty sure DLM tries line with/without interleaving and presumably compares error rates etc. Just have to stick it for 10d
