No idea why I associate diesel=reliable. In modern turbo/high pressure details IMO this is far from the case...

@McLarenFan_Jamm well also french-owned - Nissan XTrail 2.2 dCi. Within 5 years intercooler/clutch had gone. now looking at poss fuel pump
