each year i say I'll skip the #americanidol <auditions> yet am watching again. some dire examples...
finally got around to restarting my online cloud backup - at least upload is now 8 Mbps :-) Must have 10s of Gb backlog since end Dec
had not fixed up after re-installer server at christmas. tut tut.
@hunni_h Have never been big msn user, intially used more gtalk, now facebook chat is increasingly useful... anyone still use msn?

@Sulman Possible, though sw version advertized remains same. Could be config update. I made two changes
@Sulman a) I fixed wifi at #1 -- but system still failed for next two days b) I switched my laptop energy saving wifi from max to moderate
@Sulman due to spikey pings -- but by then it was already stable. I could reverse both but bemused as was affecting all clients
@Sulman I'm fortunate enough to have a technical plan B, but at same time am following up with BT as its part of service/££

gaggia mostly dismantled, not found obvious problem but cleaning out gubbins/valves first. Can't loosen group head yet - could be problem

@OzoneVibe nope. i think first two days was around 14Gb so still within limits pro-rata but speeds are fast. downloads zoom along.

HH 2b, sure wifi problems can connect but no data throughput - s60 phone, ipod, N900 (maemo linux) tho Win7 laptop ok? @BTCare

@noelrooney there's no reason to suspect the tech (access part) will have an effect, but the provisioning of respective services might
@btcare new infinity install - are there 802.11n problems with HH2 type B. Have lots of devs, I know wifi and initial reaction is its flakey
@RachaelEdwards remember they may swap or reset the box & if so you'll loose recorded programs so copy off/watch any favs...

I do like #seesmic #sd2 though notice it's using nearly 800Mb after a day -- looks like a memory leak...
that was clever. Win laptop just rebooted spontaneously. No error in errorlog, no BSOD. Looked like a power off/on cycle !

@BTCare experiments so far suggest the HH2 wifi is rather broken. any channel/device. works briefly after reboot
@BTcare Are there a list of known issues and workarounds for HH2(b) wifi. Are they fixed in HH3 ?
gosh. 18 mac addresses registered on our BT homehub. never said we were an easy test case
@unkn0wnvariable there's few things not turned on, its a fair few though all appear as wifi currently
@unkn0wnvariable prefer ethernet where poss, also old/slow devices relegated to 802.11b/g wap. want to save 802.11n for new laptops
@unkn0wnvariable though acadamic as seems to be the least reliable wifi I've seen in a while.

@oldmanuk BT do aggressively shape bittorrent. I use very rarely (like perhaps once a month) so not an issue & agree...
Just remembered to opt out of BT "web address help" so my VPN works (shame it can't be configured with exclusions like opendns)

@AdamManning main observations are a) downloads loads quicker b) HD works streaming on TV is near instant (as is SD)

@OzoneVibe your speed isn't bad then downstream - it's up you need a boost (3G may be quicker though >> latency)
