quite a quick journey home. left event ~2220, home before midnight. pretty good going.
@vixisabel sounds wonderful! not long no doubt before it's the largest english speaking country in the world...
@andybold @mseckington Good to speak to you both tonight . Should really be more organized at cards myself..
One writer's scathing thoughts on nokia world http://bit.ly/9QDNx9
Feet aching after walking around London yesterday, but great to visit camdem/primrose hill - area I'd never wandered around before
really interesting segment from net@night -- 27 minutes in to this program -> http://bit.ly/bIxwIz -- worth thinking about (email/social sw)
just thought - sent a note to some colleagues about trying to use less email - via email. Duh #personalfail
Three uk exta special gummy bears. (Gold coins all eaten..). http://post.ly/y5fQ
@girlygeekdom When I saw it in the bag I thought it was a stress ball initially (could do with 1 of those) then picked it up. Health/safety?
@girlygeekdom chocolate coins worked well for train journey home (played with mifi too :-) )
@girlygeekdom both at work/home regular optical mouse use has smoothed out the faux wooden surface so now I have to use magazine or s/else
@girlygeekdom ref the ad -- did think of spotify premium while back. If I had a supported phone I might well go for it -- offline use. ->
@girlygeekdom but currently using a rather niche N900...not sure where nokia will go. fed up with S60. android prob. Already have it on n900
@girlygeekdom well they're having a shakeup at the top level. I do like maemo. V. powerful/open, but nokia stalled IMO with S60 for years
@girlygeekdom indeed, of course it's switch to meego now anyway. Not quite ready. end/year. new Qt sdk more usable. Shop needs work.
@girlygeekdom No. Actually I've never used any MS mobile oS - wp7 could actually be quite good.
@amandagolding thanks for the #ff
First Nokia, now LG...shakeup. RT @bvlad: LG axes CEO due to the botched mobile strategy http://bvlad.net/aacwEb
RT @BradTNW: Posterous fires back at TwitPic; releases an application so you can rescue your TwitPic images. http://bit.ly/bNnnfu
@BradTNW @michelledh Why many want to OWN their content. don't like prevention (of course, then there's facebook...)
itunes is doing it's silly hanging/freezing again. I don't have an iphone, just old nano. Should use something diff I think...
@AndyBold no, but then I don't have android (yet, well apart from a partially working n900 port)
Time to place a dominos order :-)
Watching "the fourth kind"
enjoyed "the fourth kind", despite it's abysmal rotten tomatoes rating. Very tired after last night though so "early" to bed for me.
@Sandanista @EwanMarshall thanks for the #FF (apologies not got aound to it this week...)
@eco_retro Umm. mine are mostly #f1 fans. guess it says something about who you currently follow........ '-)
Yay. geeky happiness - O2 have updated my router to the new fw (the old "official" version had some probs, hope this is better)
@thecheekycritic Its prob the movie where the diff between the RT score and my own feeling has been the greatest. I enjoyed it!
@thecheekycritic I was waiting for the X to be taped to the window ;-)
@jamestaulbut SOuthampton rollout was this week if you have the box II (585v7) - should be pretty much cooked now. 8.2.7.7
@jamestaulbut Of course what I really want is FTTC - but prob not BT. Hoping Be launch sometime....good ISP, decent backhaul
Another quick play with mifi - just verifying it does in fact actually need a 3g signal to work...yep so it does. (seriously - nice device)
daughter came home from b/day meal annoyed with bouncer nr vue/frankiebennis grunting "no photos" & pointing to hidden sign
ok its private property sure, but all seems a bit silly
starting to be temped to get an android device, but prob next gen after desire/desirehd/galaxy s. critical mass/commercial
maemo /n900 tech triumph but not convinced at Nokias strategy. WM7 interesting, prob not for me (may be proven wrong). No multitask for one.
@stevephotog A wireless hotspot in pocket to share your 3G connection with any wifi dev. I'm trying out this from 3UK http://bit.ly/9QBUzV
@evoGage Samsung/HTC really upped their game recently, but so has Motorola, agree. PLUS for weak signal and solid build would trust more..?
@stevephotog they're amazingly small. I you have signal (!) great with laptop/netbook - much easier IMO than a broadband dongle
@stevephotog some phones (like android 2.2 based ones) will have similar fn built in though
@evoGage it was nexus1/milestone/n900 on my short list in Jan. Went with geeky tendencies N900. It's fantastic, flexible, works great
@evoGage but android is more "happening" - growing commercial apps, operator support, I think Nokia & MS have a challenge. But none perfect
@evoGage I actually have the stock UI on my N900 running an android 2.2 build. yes UI fluff/skin is adding to fragmentation issues a little
Safest option - don't buy/open. else yep agree there! RT @Sara_Kim: @kkir yeah that's the problem, one block will lead to half the bar :p x
RT @bvlad: AT&T roadmap leak: Motorola Flipout on Sunday, Samsung WP7 devices on October 17th? http://bvlad.net/cg35ry
@PandaGeorge @MummaBear But what laid the egg ;-) Signified next generation perhaps? #JustWondering
@Sara_Kim wonders if there'san equivilent of a "keyhole op" to extract chocolate ;-)
@evoGage I really like maemo but it is different. much more mobile computer than phone. That's *both* good and bad.
@IamNii_Teiko there's a util in dev-extras that patches the version string the #N900 reports.. though if site really needs 10, tough.
@IamNii_Teiko Annoying when N900 was first platform Adobe demoed flash 10 with acceleration on. Last year even! #N900
@IamNii_Teiko there's a new meego build with handset UI out end/month. But I think it's early days (or too late?) #N900
@evoGage yep, I'm inclined to agree, though still omissions. Why mo internet radio/DLNA out of box in stock 2.2? Something obvious (for me?)
@evoGage I do like Nokia's camera though - and iphone4 appears good here. Not convinced the android HW offerings are *quite* there yet
