@THEpastamaster well G will be 12-25, suspect N will be 40-80 in real life. Gbit is up to 1000 (I've maxed around 600, say 400 4 file copy)
@THEpastamaster YMMV as they say -- though note that the speed drops off a lot both for distance and also if you move from say u/stairs
@THEpastamaster ring to downstairs. Worth a try but I'd make sure you can return (amazon? argos etc).I'd guess the "200" ones will give you
@THEpastamaster 70-80 tops. Also depends on speed of source/dest systems, file sizes etc.
@THEpastamaster http://bit.ly/fRhlAV may help ?
@EmmaGx At least you had some friends in your pocket presumably to keep you company even if it does look geekish (like everyone these days)
@EmmaGx Still have to pick up son from work (sat job) xmas do albeit only a few miles. Think it will be cold/slippery. would prefer sleep
@EmmaGx talking of n900 - have you tried "twimgo". I got through xfactor with it (a minor stress test). still not a tweedeck.. but..
@EmmaGx not in the dev repos yet sadly -- and you need to have qtwrt installed first http://bit.ly/f0QaGG
@EmmaGx I intend to. at least quiet. Did actually go out thu, 4 times fri, and sat .. carefully esp our side road (rink). main less bad
@EmmaGx but think tonight is in some ways worse - just ice.
@EmmaGx actually I don't think it is even in the "devel" (=fun) repo yet. You may need that for qtwrt. not checked. approaching usable
@EmmaGx twimgo thread at http://bit.ly/hUUgTO #n900
@EmmaGx BTW the tweets are doing nothing to shed the geek image ;-)

@F1_Dan1980 I've had supermarket /ass beans before - not a patch on proper stuff ie from hasbean.co.uk (recommend). Order has been sent
@geraintwjones if I needed to I prob would, but don't need to. Was out wed late and thu 3 times - each time getting more slippery
@geraintwjones so with cold weather expect it's worse this morning so planning to stay put
@hasbean RT @F1_Dan1980: @planetf1 Thanks for the link - my wife is setting up a subscription now for 3 months supply delivered to the door!
second part of morning going better after a dodgy start (vpn, system troubles)
@timbo_baggins In my case I think it was a lack of capacity server side, though in meantime I "repaired" then de/re-installed my client :-(
@O2 I'm seeing full bar/good broadband/calls inside on new coverage map, but get no cov or 1 bar inside. Any upgrades planned? will dm pc
@TmobileUKhelp can you advise of any planned coverage improvements in my area. Have already checked web checker Can DM postcode

@TmobileUKhelp thanks for checking. sadly orange/three same forced to voda for decent covg at either location (lots of ppl).
@ejjyjo restart (off->on)? disk full? card not in? no sub?
@emmadouglas91 Oh dear. I sometimes do the same....
@emmadouglas91 yes I get told that I am when I do that by other people ;-)
@vodafoneuk trying to get in touch with your "employee advantage" team but their email is auto-responder and normal CS having trouble
@vodafoneuk understanding a question - clearly they didn't even read it at all 1st time or properly 2nd time. Need "human" email addr for Q
@ejjyjo glad it helped. May have just worked loose or needed a reset. Happy watching.
It's been years since I've heard "Kayleigh" by Marillion - just come up on my lastfm friends radio :-)
@MichaelxHell @amigaluv If they do they immediately loose one of their acknowledge competitive advantages IMO.
@VodafoneUK Apologies, The address was a minor variation and looks like it may be correct. So CS reply was helpful on 2nd attempt
@Inacurate you're making me feel bad.... did you write them on the list before or after doing them ;-)
@racheeroo01 Ahh :-( My son didn't get many cards either for his 17th-- I know some are stuck in the post :-( tho present is ££ for driv les
@vodafoneuk is there a way of seeing PAYG data usage on the 500Mb £10 freebie offer on web. Cant see on myaccount just days/balance/texts ?
@vodafoneuk I am measuring on phone, but would be useful to validate against the network view...
@jon_read @amandagolding Hungry here too, tho did walk to tesco earlier & pick up a ready made curry. Hardly the same :-(
@UK_Chuck #Could it be an earthed neutral line. I think that works out as 120V not certain ??? #warrington #wa4 #electric
@UK_Chuck we had that once. Electronic kit with switched mode PSUs were ok (computer, tv). lights etc failed #warrington #wa4 #electric
@UK_Chuck Personally I'd unplug stuff to prevent damage #warrington #wa4 #electric
@PaddockHillBend and now it's a change - t'Pau china in your hand. (a stripped down version)
Having a good couple of hours working with the help of #lastfm but it's seriously time to eat. Hungry now!
The person I'm following (playing friend radio) on lastfm has a wicked music taste. loving almost all the tracks.
@UK_Chuck you need to find a pub with an open fire and hand pulled beer ;-)
@UK_Chuck and candles...
Thinking I wish a) sony bravia internet b) samsung internet@tv had a) @lastfm b) @spotify ... please!
@bobbiejohnson Exact same feeling here. saw orig. Doesn't inspire me. "The Tourist" (depp/jolie) looks pretty good tho..
Annoying to stop working when it took until late today to get some traction, but tummy says now is time to stop...
rather than change the time http://bbc.in/e29gEp why don't places just change/stagger opening/closing? then change is incremental?
+7 degrees forcast tomorrow. Believe it when I see it. Hopefully some defrosting! #southampton

A special #ff - only 4 followers and an #f1 fan that made it to the badger event @PaddockHillBend
@saltyF1 many thanks for the #ff sarah
@nessie111 thanks for the #ff
@SuzSnarks again! What now? Is there a theme?
@saltyF1 hey just realised you double #ff me in that tweet . I get extra points :-)
So they talk about panic buying on news. Doesnt that just fuel a vicous circle (as does tweeting?)

@Alexandra_1608 yes we had more snow over night http://bit.ly/hfyCC3 . was out ~11pm last night - slow, not been out today
@JayMontano my wishes a) good twitter app like tweetdeck/gravity b) wifi positioning c) compass - other than that, ace
@jtonline cool. haven't been out to measure. visually I reckoned 15cm so sounds like right ballpark #uksnow
RT @BBCBreaking: Qantas launches legal action against Rolls Royce manufacturer of A380 engine which exploded last month
Brilliant even if another continent! RT @dsml: Weather warning: two feet of snow in the city. http://post.ly/1HJZV
@JayMontano it's nearly driven me to desire hd/galaxy s or even zte blade on many occasions. Gravity isn't Qt though :-(
@JayMontano what do you use? #witter can be slow/unreliable. #khweetear overloads api, poor history, and limited fn #Gravity #Qt
@JayMontano #tweego looks slick but no dm/mention/auto refresh twimgo seems clinky. website small text/more awkward #Gravity #Qt
@JayMontano witter best in function, but scrolling jerky, s/times locks up/looses credentials, gestures mis-interpreted
@Alexandra_1608 no doubt will head out for a walk later to see proper pretty!
@OzoneVibe trying to think how far you are from big tescos anyway - a walk?
@OzoneVibe not so bad then - at least it's not *on* the M3. looks like a proper footpath!
just seen a car outside spinning wheels incessantly trying to get up road (v. minor hill) - lighter touch needed?
@OzoneVibe Well surely if I press the pedal more I'll go faster right. simple. (oh it was a white van BTW)
@hardillb snow on the line? Well last year we had burst/leak in A4 and it was shut for a few days
@noelrooney seen how the main knightwod road is yet/chandlers ford. I'd hope its ok just side roads bad, but not checked yet
How are the main roads around chandlers ford/eastleigh /otterbourne right now. Ok or bad? Is it mostly just side/estate roads poor?
cameras at http://bit.ly/eUyGU2 seem to suggest main roads are fine (taking care) - chilworth roundabout for example
@sxa555 Just tried #we7 again (amd phenom 3x core 8600Gt chrome beta) 35% with we7 page open. loads of animations. still totally unusable
At least 5 segments of pages have animated dverts for albums, sky,, join now, nme #we7
@parboo thanks. looks similar to last night.
@OzoneVibe good fine. Works as long as lots of ppl stay home
You fancy spending the night there then!
@sxa555 Just thought I'd check lastfm, and ok it's a client, not browser, but streaming is sitting 0 - 1 % spotify client 1% #we7
@sxa555 becomes relevant when its background music whilst working [and running other "heavy" software ;-) ] ie on laptop
remembered problem with WFH during snow - visitors, kids friends, noise outside. (hence music streaming & good headphones essential...)
stupid app. since when is "save as draft" the same as "save as draft and close". Duh wasted clicks fail
@ThreeUK Hi, Can I check that a coverage boost/mast upgrade/new mast (which?) is still planned for around 15/12 SO53 ?
@etherealtype guess you know this --> RT @aspender: RT @SOU_Airport: Southampton Airport is now closed until 4pm today...
RT @xplane0202: so i struggle for an hour tying to screw the back onto a chair and dad comes in just now and does it in 2 mins :S arghhh ...
simple job to collect daughter couple of miles away - basically an hour. drive/own road + destination = ice rinks/no grit.
main road ok-ish. Have another 2 journeys for kids today. Quicker to walk probably.
A friend of mine is over in zurich involved in bid/waiting for announce. he must be bricking it.
getting slightly more worried about driving up to near birmingham on sat (snowforcast there) back sun (forcast here).
currently trying "rockmelt" as browser again (DM if I'm following & you want invite, and are on facebook). Should me "snowmelt" today!
Like working at home when it's quiet. Today is not that, and it's a struggle to concentrate..

as usual my co-op insurance quote is higher than web quote. Can't be adjusted so just have to do it again. Silly. more admin for them!
same policy, same limits just free emergency insurance & 10% discount. Why not have web renewal site. guess its inertia. still good company
Christening canceled. Glad I booked a flexible root rate in hotel. Cancel was 1 click / no charge away
@OzoneVibe It's @xplane0202 s birthday so somewhat his call but think we may do a family meal out, prob saturday #twurryup
@OzoneVibe but will be at the tweetup next sat. quite a few meals between now and then! #twurryup
@OzoneVibe yeah not fai to just disappear out. I'd bring him along but think OH/sis will want to do something together #twurryup
today's been somewhat mixed. Quite disrupted and harder to focus. Hope tomorrow will be smoother
@andypiper never looked at android in depth, like the fact that on N900 maemo I can use ps, top, >>powertop<< etc to figure out drain
@mike_griffin_f1 I'd guess the average wealth per capita might be slightly higher though
Just checked my @O2 coverage. Sadly full (normal/good) voice/text/data/INTERNET coverage for home postcode is actually 0-1 bars
back from picking son up from work. Each time I've gone out (3 times) it's got slippier. Very slippery in places now.
don't want to go out again now...
@jaylimburn not at all -- focus. Have more confidence in it as used to it & "feel" the surface better. Also stability control #4x4sRule
!!OMG!! Don't think I've ever seen it forcast this cold -> -11 deg.C tonight http://bit.ly/hFgQjJ
minus 11. seriously. that is **** cold.
should have bought some nice brandy - specially for the cold weather you understand. Maybe tequilla will work ...
getting that cold tonight roads are going to be far far worse than today I reckon. def stay at home tomorrow
@timbo_baggins you raised me 2 there!
@jaylimburn I guess what I meant was understanding the behaviour/dynamics/limits more important than absolute level? #4x4sRule
@jaylimburn Also I've seen a few IMO ******* today in #4x4s. Most people fairly sensible though
@OzoneVibe must admit I was out an hour ago and it didn't seem that cold, but only briefly (walked to atm!)
@martinjgale it was funny to see their team was so surprised to have won!
@OzoneVibe @Alexandra_1608 just like any city - always warmer than surroundings. All the hot air from the city?
Finally cooking dinner - new potatoes, ratatouille, and some ocean salmon #waitrose
@OzoneVibe @Alexandra_1608 oh I didn't know that
@OzoneVibe Warm quicker is good - though the **HIGH** for tomorrow is -4 - so no defrost? AARRGHH
@davenice very funny!
RT @davenice: @planetf1 technically -11 is only just ** cold, not **** cold. I presume we're talking freezer star ratings?
dinner is served. yummy
@Alexandra_1608 Just like we can't handle snow. guess it's down to whats normal or not... #NoCentralHeating
RT @hantsconnect: Brr, at - 5 degrees salt's not very good at stopping ice on roads and at -10 its not much use at all, be careful
@IamLewis4real So to throw a curveball many obvious choices mentioned I'm intrigued this http://bit.ly/fybP67 & pushing tech forward ?
@OzoneVibe one of the itv forcasters was on lunchtime news and said overall coldest he'd done in 20 years
@peregr1n and of course we do have the olympics...
after seeing new forcasts wishing I'd bought more in the supermarket today. (like red wine!)
usually prefer alaskan salmon, but have our side of the atlantic salmon tonight. Def better than the farmed stuff...
Hopefully will be watching part 2 (we broke earlier in week) of Gangs of New York. #movietime
@vixisabel did you slip/get an injury? why else hang around at A&E? #fb
@vixisabel it's looking pretty cold and slippery round here. Studded boots then?
@SlyRenard not only have I not tried it, I haven't heard of it until now!
@nnubeh is it downhill and in a straight line? If so good.
@SlyRenard bit further than my local waitrose. But if I'm in the area I should look!

@Hands0n but they've not launched yet sadly. only BT/caps. Am unlimited old O2 tariff now but only 4.5 Mbps.just about does iplayer 720p
@Hands0n yes think @skyhd could potentially be the best FTTC provider if no/hi limits and having own in-net content via anytime+ too
@Hands0n it's certainly a dynamic time in AV. think next ££ here will be replacement 7.1 system.
@Hands0n yep that's my hope.
@Hands0n would like to see it, but closed to non-sky BB currently, and don't want to commit t onew contract until FTTC offerings take off
@peteralevy pass on comisertions. has happened to me a few times. no tweets but DMs ok.. frustrating
@Hands0n they have offers time/time. I got 3 months for price of 1. got thru lots of DVDs, then after tv/player had a few blurays but get
@Hands0n access to lots of streaming Dropped to £10/1 disk pkg for now. Jury still out on cost effectiveness. not watched whole movie yet
@peteralevy yep #f1 is when it hit me. the worst possible time.
@Hands0n Apparently I can refer you for 30 day trial, tho you may find 2 or 3 month offers around (moneysavinexpert, hotukdeals?)
@Joyouscomms nope I can't do @amandagolding s curry night, but am going to do @Tuesdaytweetup xmas drinks Sat 11th Dec
@Joyouscomms hope your dad isn't on twitter or you just blew it!
@ananyah yep - use it for work related contacts / subject experts etc. (current or prospective ..). Mostly cv/network tho not active
@bvlad must admit don't buy into this sound stuff. ultimately the speakers too small/tinny. use headphones or proper spkrs/amp..
@SRT40 ah not seen it. did think about it. heard lots of good reports
@honeybee85 oh er. congrats on at least getting it in. hope it works out for you.

@VodafoneUKdeals @tooky To join in conv. I think its fair as long as relevant & in context to original point and opens up a discussion
@VodafoneUKdeals @tooky rather than just a one way "push" of a promotion. I see it more as "engagement" than advertizing, which is fine ?
@VodafoneUKdeals @tooky which is quite interesting as I tend to avoid adverts/spam/mass mail/ff through sky+ at all costs.
@tooky @VodafoneUKdeals I certainly think it's a fine line, and depends a lot on the individual.. tricky stuff to get it right.
emails about pensions going downhill always get me worked up and less productive for the day. Grrr.. feeling tense.

@maggiephilbin How about we have a seperate license to allow driving with dusting of snow+. Expect education/training plays a part.
@maggiephilbin I keep thinking that too. When icy still see some drivers (esp 4x4) thinking ice not problem (last year, not current dusting)

@charlesarthur was partly tongue in cheek, but interesting in winter which that heat energy wasn't really wasted in this country.
